1. What is it?

My Filing Requests is the tracking page for all managed filing requests submitted through Finora's Filing Services. When a business clicks "Continue to Filing" on any Filing Services item (VAT/WHT Combo, PAYE, CIT, Annual Returns, or Audit Certification), a filing request is created and tracked here. Each request has a status (Draft / Active / Completed) and shows the service type, period, fee, and creation date. Businesses can monitor progress, complete pending payments, or cancel draft requests from this page.


2. How does it work in Finora?

2.1 The My Filing Requests page (/tax/filing-requests)

Header: - Heading: "My Filing Requests" - Subtitle: "Track your tax filing requests and their status"

Tabs:

Tab What it shows
All Requests All filing requests regardless of status
Active Requests in progress (submitted and being worked on)
Completed Requests that have been fully filed

2.2 Request card

Each filing request shows as a card with:

Period Filing period (e.g., Dec 2025)
Fee Service fee (e.g., ₦9,500.00)

Draft requests show a notice: "Draft: Click to complete payment and submit your filing request." with a Cancel request button.

2.3 Request statuses

Status Meaning
Draft Request started but payment not yet completed — not yet submitted to Finora's team
Active Payment completed; request submitted and Finora's team is working on it
Completed Filing has been submitted to NRS/CAC/SIRS; request is fulfilled

2.4 Completing a Draft request

If a request is in Draft status: 1. Click on the request card 2. Complete payment for the service fee 3. Once payment is confirmed, the request moves to Active 4. Finora's team picks it up and files the return


2.5 Cancelling a request

Draft requests can be cancelled using the Cancel request button on the card. Active or Completed requests cannot be self-cancelled — escalate to Tier 2 for cancellation assistance.


3. Business rules & constraints

Rule Detail
Draft = unpaid, not yet submitted A Draft request has not been charged and is not yet being worked on
Active = paid and in-progress Once payment is processed, the request becomes Active and Finora's team begins work
Completed requests cannot be undone Once a return is filed with NRS/CAC/SIRS, it cannot be recalled — amendments require a separate process

Requests link to Filing Services All requests originate from /tax/filing-services — you cannot create a request directly from this page

4. Nigerian regulatory context

Tracking obligations for Nigerian tax filings - FIRS (now NRS) strongly recommends businesses maintain records of all filed returns including submission references — the Request ID and filing period on each card serve this purpose - Filed returns create a statutory obligation — once submitted, a return forms the basis of the tax assessment; amendments must be formally requested - PAYE returns are state-level (SIRS) — the Active request confirms that the remittance is being processed to the correct state authority


5. Common customer questions

Q: "I started a filing request but never paid. Where is it?"

It will be in the Draft status on the All Requests tab. Click the card to complete payment and activate the request.

Q: "My request shows Active — when will it be completed?"

Active means Finora's team has received your request and is working on it. Do not quote completion timelines — escalate to Tier 2 for an update on the specific request.

Q: "I want to cancel my Active request."

Active requests cannot be self-cancelled. Escalate to Tier 2 who can coordinate with the filing team.

Q: "I can't find my completed filing. Where is it?"

Click the Completed tab on the My Filing Requests page. If it still isn't there, escalate to Tier 3.


6. Known edge cases

Draft request from a prior period

The test business has a Draft VAT/WHT request for Dec 2025 created 02 Jan 2026 that was never completed. Old drafts will persist in the All Requests list indefinitely. Businesses should review and cancel stale drafts they no longer intend to proceed with.

No "New Request" button on this page

My Filing Requests is a tracking page only — it doesn't have a button to start a new request. Direct customers to /tax/filing-services to initiate new filings.


7. Escalation trigger

Escalate to Tier 3 (Founder) if: - A Completed request is missing (doesn't appear in the Completed tab) - A request moved from Active to a failed or unknown status

Escalate to Tier 2 (Support Lead) if: - Customer needs an update on an Active request - Customer wants to cancel an Active or Completed request - Customer paid for a request but status is still Draft
