Multi-Tenant / Multi-Business Access¶
Last reviewed: 2026-04-01
Overview¶
Finora supports multi-business access — a single user account can be a member of multiple businesses. This is essential for accountants managing client businesses and business owners with multiple ventures.
How It Works¶
Business Switcher¶
The top-left header shows the current business name (e.g., "COA Test School Academy"). Clicking it opens a dropdown showing all businesses the user has access to. Select a different business to switch context.
Membership Model¶
- Each user has a single Finora account (one email, one login)
- Each business has its own data, COA, transactions, and settings — fully isolated
- A user can be a member of multiple businesses with different roles in each
Roles per Business¶
| Role | Access |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full access + billing + team management + business deletion |
| Admin | Full access except billing and deletion |
| Accountant | Financial data, reports, tax modules, COA |
| Viewer | Read-only dashboards and reports |
A user can be Owner of one business and Accountant on another.
Accountant Pro Plan¶
The Accountant Pro subscription (₦50,000/month) is designed for accounting firms: - Manage up to 20 client businesses - Add up to 7 team members - Full accountant role access across all businesses
Data Isolation¶
Each business is completely isolated: - Separate Chart of Accounts - Separate transactions (invoices, expenses, receipts) - Separate tax returns and filings - Separate employees and payroll - Separate bank accounts - Separate subscription (each business has its own plan)
Switching businesses changes the entire context — all pages show data for the selected business only.
Common Issues¶
"I can only see one of my businesses"¶
The business may not have the user as a member. The business owner needs to invite them via Settings → Team Members.
"I was removed from a business accidentally"¶
The business owner needs to re-invite the user. Membership cannot be self-restored.
"My accountant needs access to my books"¶
Go to Settings → Team Members → Invite Team Member → enter their email → assign "Accountant" role.
Escalation¶
- Tier 1: Guide business switcher usage; explain role differences
- Tier 2: User lost access to a business; ownership transfer requests
- Tier 3: Data appearing in the wrong business context (data isolation breach)
